CARMEL – Class 5A No. 2 Carmel got two first-half rushing touchdowns from senior quarterback Morgan Newton Nov. 7 en route to a 48-3 trouncing of Harrison (West Lafayette) in the championship game of Sectional 4. The Greyhounds ripped off 42 unanswered points against the Raiders
after a Harrison field goal made the score 6-3 in favor of Carmel near
the end of the first quarter.

Carmel, which improved to 11-1, will travel to fifth-ranked Fort Wayne Snider (11-1) next weekend for the Regional 2 title. The clash will be a rematch of last year’s regional won by Carmel, 20-3.
Harrison, which has lost two straight sectional championship games to Carmel, ends its season at 6-6.
