FB: 5A #7 Fishers puts up 50 in first half of 50-20 win over Harrison

FISHERS – Look out for Fishers.

The Class 5A seventh-ranked host Tigers pounded the scoreboard for 50 first-half points Sept. 18 in a 50-20 win over Hoosier Crossroads Conference foe Harrison (West Lafayette). The lopsided victory leaves Fishers as the only unbeaten school remaining in the HCC at 5-0 overall and in league play.

Senior quarterback Alex Hines went 13 for 23 passing for 210 yards and three touchdowns and added 47 yards on the ground with his seven carries. The big play in the raucous first half came on 3rd and 1 at the Harrison 40 when Hines faked a first-quarter handoff and found Ian Kinsey over the middle on a 14-yard scoring strike.

Fishers won the first down battle 16-5 and limited the Raiders (1-4, 1-4) to just 69 yards on 24 carries, including a safety by Taylor Halstead on a sack in the end zone.

Next up for Fishers is a Sept. 25 home game against McCutcheon (2-3), a 42-13 Week 5 home loser to Noblesville. Harrison will host Zionsville (4-1), a 30-14 winner at Westfield.
