Fishers 169, Hamilton Southeastern 173 – The Royals Wes Bowman was the medalist shooting a 38. Incidentally, Fishers trimmed Southeastern’s lead to one, 9-8, in the Mudsock Trophy standings. Carmel defeats Hamilton Southeastern 2 games to none by scores of 25-20, 25-18 – Opening round of the Metro Tourney at Zionsville

Zionsville defeats Carmel two games to one by scores of 23-25, 25-15, 15-12 – Metro Tournament play at Zionsville

Fishers 8, New Castle 4, game #1

Fishers 7, New Castle 3, game #2 – Matt Hitt and Matt Woosley were the two winning pitchers for the Tigers. Matt Lenz and Brice Davis both hit homeruns on the day for Fishers. In fact, Lenz hit two of them, including a grand slam in game #2.

4A #3 Brownsburg 19, Lebanon 4 (5) – Matt Steinbaker went 4 for 4 with a homerun and 6 RBI’s in the win.

Noblesville 12, Hamilton Heights 1 (5)

Hamilton Southeastern 17, Jennings County 7 (6) – Matt Ripp had an outstanding game for the Royals, going 3 for 3 with a grand slam and 6 RBI’s.

Hamilton Southeastern 10, Floyd Central 9 – Rob Stein homered in the win for Southeastern.

Avon Invitational
Semifinal: Avon 13, Pike 4 – Craig Gerulski was a perfect 4 for 4 in the win.
Championship: Avon 13  Southport 5 – Joe Ward went 2 for 2 with a homer as the Orioles won their own invitational.

Softball
4A #4 Hamilton Southeastern 5, Richmond 3 – Ali Conger got the win with a four strikeout performance and Taylor Rager came on to get the save. Offensively for the Royals, Caitlin Laughlin went 3 for 3 and drove in three runs.

Girls Tennis
#7 Zionsville 5, Lafayette Jeff 0
– The Eagles improved to 4-0 and Jeff fell to 1-1.

Zionsville 5, McCutcheon 0 – Zionsville completes a Lafayette sweep of both Lafayette Jeff and McCutcheon to improve to 5-0. McCutcheon dropped to 0-5.

Boys Golf
Avon Invitational –  The host #11 Orioles shot a team total 306 to capture their own invite at Prestwick. Lebanon was the runner-up with a total score of 326. Fishers finished 9th with a team total of 343.

Warsaw Invitational – Brownsburg finished eighth firing a team total 370. Lake Central won the event held at Stonehenge Country Club.

Twin Lakes Invitational – McCutcheon finished third with a total score of 340. Peru won the event which was held at Tippecanoe Country Club with a score of 320.

HCC Daily Scoreboard: Friday April 11

Baseball
Lafayette Jeff 2, Zionsville 1 – The visiting Eagles committed a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh inning which allowed Jeff’s Tyler Robbins to score the winning run. The Bronchos improved to 6-1 (2-0 HCC) with the win and Zionsville fell to 2-2 (0-2 HCC).

4A #3 Brownsburg 3, McCutcheon 0 – Alex Berlyn got the win for the Bulldogs with a seven strikeout performance. Brownsburg is 5-0 (2-0 HCC) and McCutcheon is 3-4 (0-2 HCC).

West Lafayette 18, Harrison 1 (5) – The Raiders are now 1-6 after the non-conference thumping by their county rivals. (Click here to read a story about the game from Jeff Wasburn courtesy of the Lafayette Journal & Courier)

Noblesville 10, Fishers 5 – Ryan Wides smacked two homeruns and drove in four as the Millers improved to 6-3 (2-0 HCC). The Tigers dropped to 4-4 (0-2) HCC.

Avon 6, HSE 4 – Rob McPike went 2 for 3 with a homerun and 3 RBI’s as the Orioles improved to 4-1 (2-0 HCC). Hamilton Southeastern fell to 2-4 (0-2 HCC).
