Despite the
havoc the weather has played with the schedule, the softball season is quickly
slipping away. Here is the mid-season summary courtesy of the HCC office.

The
jockeying continues in the state poll of Indiana’s best softball teams. This
week the Hoosier Crossroads Conference claims four spots in the top 20 and can
boast the #1 ranking. That honor was given to Avon. Other HCC teams in the poll
include Noblesville at eighth, Harrison 13th, and McCutcheon 20th.
Here is a look at the complete poll in all classes.
Hamilton Southeastern News Bureau The # 14 HSE Girls tennis team extended their unbeaten record to 5-0
this weekend with two more strong showings. They defeated both
Harrison High and McCutcheon on saturday, winning both matches 5-0.
The Lady netters playing without #2 singles player Kristie Hsu showed
no signs of a let down on a hot and windy day. “It was good to see the
ladies play well under tough conditions, they stayed focused for both
matches.” said Coach Willingham. “They needed to get these matches
over since they have to play matches every day next week.” Though most
of the varsity players had seen playing time before, freshman Taylor
Grayson made her varsity debut, teaming with Holly Becker at #2 doubles
winning 6-1,6-0. The Royals next play Avon on Monday.

Four Hoosier
Crossroads teams are cited in this week’s 4A state poll. Avon headlines the
list, holding down the second spot on the list. Undefeated Noblesville is also
in the top ten, occupying the sixth spot this week. The second ten includes
always powerful McCutcheon in 15th and Harrison in 20th.

Weather has
played havoc with the early season baseball schedule just as it has with all
sports. Only three HCC teams have managed to play more than six games so far
this spring. Here is a complete look at the early action on HCC diamonds.
