HCC Daily Scoreboard: Saturday, October 18

Here is your Hoosier Crossroads Conference Daily Scoreboard for Saturday, October 18.

Boys Cross Country Regionals
Ben Davis RegionalAvon finished in sixth place with 122 points and Brownsburg was seventh with 166 points. Unfortunately, neither the Orioles or the Bulldogs will advance to the semistate round as a team. However, Avon’s Chris Surfus and Brownsburg Scott Vicenzi both will advance to Saturday’s Franklin Central Semistate as individuals after posting top five finishes in the regional. Pike won the team title at Ben Davis with a score of 78 points.

Brebeuf Regional – Here are the HCC team results from the meet which was won by top-ranked Carmel with 38 points: #3 Fishers-2nd (64 points), #8 Zionsville-4th (129 points), #12 Noblesville-5th (133 points), and #10 Westfield-6th (138 points). Westfield does not advance as a team to the Oct. 25 Franklin Central Semistate, but the Shamrocks will send both Dustin Neff and Connor Martin to the semistate as individuals. Harrison (West Lafayette) Regional – Here are the HCC team results from the regional: #4 McCutcheon-1st (26 points), Harrison-4th (110 points), and Lafayette Jefferson-5th (125 points). The Mavericks, Raiders, and Bronchos all earned spots as teams to Saturday’s New Prairie Semistate. Individually, McCutcheon’s Robby Stewart won the regional with a time of 15:47.

Girls Cross Country Regionals
Ben Davis Regional#17 Brownsburg won the meet with 40 points, and Avon finished in third place with 105 points. Both schools advance as teams to the Oct. 25 Franklin Central Semistate.

Brebeuf RegionalHere are the HCC team results from the meet which was won by #1 Carmel with 35 points: #5 Noblesville2nd (80 points), #3 Westfield-3rd (101 points), #24 Fishers-7th (172 points), and Hamilton Southeastern-8th (189 points). Both Fishers and HSE failed to advance as teams to Saturday’s Franklin Central Semistate. However, Makayla Schultheis of Fishers and Brook Morgan of Hamilton Southeastern will each compete in the semistate as individuals. Click here to watch video highlights from the Brebeuf Regional.

Harrison (West Lafayette) Regional – Harrison scored 60 points and finished runner-up to West Lafayette (46 points). Lafayette Jefferson finished third with 100 points and will join Harrison at the New Prairie Semistate on Oct. 25.

#5 Zionsville 4, #14 Pike 2The Eagles will meet #18 Center Grove in the North Central (Indianapolis) Semistate on Oct. 25.

West Lafayette Regional Chmpionship
Harrison (West Lafayette) 4, Crawfordsville 0 – The Raiders advance to the Crown Point Semistate on Oct. 25 where they will meet #17 Munster.

Hamilton Southeasten Sectional Championship
co#1 Noblesville 2, #4 Zionsville 0 – The Millers advance to the Zionsville Regional on Oct. 22 where they will play New Palestine at 7:00 P.M.

Brownsburg Sectional Championship
#17 Brownsburg 4, Avon 0 – The Bulldogs will meet Roncalli in the Avon Regional on Oct. 22 at 7:00 P.M.

Harrison (West Lafayette) Sectional Championship
McCutcheon 2, West Lafayette 1 – The Mavericks will travel to the Logansport Regional on Oct. 22 where they will meet Kokomo at 7:00 P.M.

HCC Daily Scoreboard: Friday, October 17

Here is your Hoosier Crossroads Conference Daily Scoreboard for Friday, October 17.

Football
5A #3 Hamilton Southeastern 45, McCutcheon 17 – The Royals wrapped up their 2008 regular season with an unbeaten 9-0 record and will face 5A #4 Warren Central at home next Friday night (Oct. 24) in the opening round of 5A Sectional #5. McCutcheon finishes its regular season at 1-8, and will travel to Tippecanoe County and conference rival Harrison (West Lafayette) next Friday for their 5A Sectional #4 opener.

5A #11 Avon 10, Zionsville 7 – The Orioles conclude their regular season on a five game winning streak to finish at 7-2, and open up 5A sectional #6 play next Friday night at Indianapolis Tech. Zionsville finishes the regular season at 5-4 and will host conference foe Westfield in the opening round of 4A Sectional #13 next Friday.

Fishers 28, Brownsburg 9 – Fishers finishes conference play at 6-3 and will travel to Lawrence North next Friday night for its opening round game in 5A Sectional #5. Brownsburg dropped to 4-5 with the loss and will try and rebound next Friday night at Franklin Central in the opening round of 5A Sectional #6 competition.

Harrison (West Lafayette) 31, Noblesville 14 – Harrison snapped a three game losing streak to end its regular season at 4-5. Next up for the Raiders in the opening round of 5A Sectional #4 is a home date with Tippecanoe County and conference rival McCutcheon next Friday night. Noblesville concluded its regular season at 3-6, and will travel to 5A #1 Carmel next Friday night in the opening round of 5A Sectional #4.

Westfield 30, Lafayette Jefferson 3 – The visiting Bronchos ran into a desperate bunch Shamrocks on Friday night, who were trying to avoid going 0-9 in the regular season. Westfield put together an impressive performance against Jeff to finish the regular season at 1-8. The Shamrocks open up 4A Sectional #13 competition next Friday night on the road at conference rival Zionsville. Lafayette Jefferson finished its regular season at 5-4, and will hit the road again next Friday night at Anderson for their opening round game in 5A Sectional #4.

Here is your Hoosier Crossroads Conference Daily Scoreboard for Tuesday, October 14.

Boys Cross Country Sectionals
Carmel Sectional – Here are the HCC results from the sectional, teams finishing in the top five advance to the Brebeuf Regional on Saturday, October 18: #3 Fishers-2nd (67 points), #10 Westfield-3rd (84 points), #8 Zionsville-4th (97 points), #12 Noblesville-5th (113 points), and Hamilton Southeastern-6th (120 points). Top-ranked Carmel won the sectional with a score of 41 points.  Individually, Zionsville senior Dylan Sorensen took first place at the meet with a time of 15:20. Hamilton Southeastern’s Ross Roberson and Joe Ebling each finished in the top-15 to qualify as individuals for the regional.  

Harrison (West Lafayette) Sectional – Here are the HCC team finishes from the meet, once again the top five teams advance to the Harrison (West Lafayette) Regional on Saturday, October 18: #4 McCutcheon-1st (20 points), Harrison-4th (111 points), and Lafayette Jefferson-5th (149 points). McCutcheon senior Robby Stewart won the race in a time of 15:45.

South Putnam Sectional – Avon won the team title with 47 points, and Brownsburg finished third with 77 points. Both schools advance as teams to the Ben Davis Regional on Saturday, October 18. Avon senior Chris Surfus won the meet with a time of 16:16.

Girls Cross Country Sectionals
Carmel SectionalHere are the HCC results from the sectional, teams finishing in the top five advance to the Brebeuf Regional on Saturday, October 18: #5 Noblesville-2nd (81 points), #3 Westfield-3rd (81 points; Noblesville’s 6th runner finished higher than Westfield’s), Hamilton Southeastern-4th (109 points), #24 Fishers-5th (113 points), and Zionsville-6th (148 points). Top-ranked Carmel won the sectional with 20 points. Individually, Zionsville’s Maria McGraw qualified for the regional as an individual by finishing in 13th place.

Harrison (West Lafayette) Sectional – Here are the HCC team finishes from the meet, once again the top five
teams advance to the Harrison (West Lafayette) Regional on Saturday,
October 18: Harrison-2nd (47 points), Lafayette Jefferson-3rd (99 points), and McCutcheon-6th (168 points). West Lafayette (44 points) edged Harrison by three points to win the sectional title.  

South Putnam Sectional – #17 Brownsburg posted a winning score of 20 points to run away with the victory. Avon finished as runner-up to the Bulldogs with a score of 71 points. Both teams advance to the Ben Davis Regional on Saturday, October 18. Brownsburg freshman Sydney Lesko was the individual winner with a time of 19:23.
